30 Project Points

Construction Challenges Project

To get full credit on the project, you must successfully receive 30 out of the 40 total points. You can do them in any order that you want, but are NOT allowed to look on the internet for step-by-step instructions. Any points that you get above the 25 will count as extra credit. This project is worth 30 project points, and you can receive up to an extra 5 points (0.5 points for each point above 30). We will have Tuesday (5/30) and Wednesday (5/31) in class to work on this project, and the project will be due at the end of the day Thursday (6/1). To submit your project, upload a screenshot of the website including the scoring tracker in the bottom right of the screen.

You can also gain 5 points of extra credit (counted as an extra grade in the category of your choice) for successfully completing the any or all of the following constructions in GeoGebra. You must download the GeoGebra file and send it to me (or upload to this assignment on Google Classroom) and I must be able to move it around while the construction still works.
A. Starting with a segment of unit length, construct a segment of length √2 (hint: right triangles)
B. Starting with a segment of unit length, construct a segment of length √3 (hint: right triangles)
C. Starting with a segment of unit length, construct a segment of length √5 (hint: right triangles)
D. Construct a 22.5 degree angle (hint: start with angles that you know how to construct)
E. Construct a 127.5 degree angle (hint: start with angles that you know how to construct)
